If you loved The Great Hunt
-
The Eye of the World
The first book of the same series, worth reading first because this one picks up straight after it.
-
The Way of Kings A modern epic with a similar scale and a slow build toward huge, intertwined stakes.
-
A Game of Thrones
Equally long and political, with a harder edge and a much less certain fate for its heroes.
